King George Frederick Ernest Albert, George the Fifth, was a Navy man who, as King, traveled to France and rallied his men on the front lines during WWI. He was a popular king that overcame tenuous political difficulties and enjoyed a joyous Silver Jubilee the year before his death.
On the obverse side of this George V penny, the seated Britannia reigns. She has a long history appearing on Roman coins in the first century as a goddess of protection and wisdom similar to the Roman goddess Minerva. Her image returned after the union of Scotland and England in the late 1700s, meant to symbolize unity.
Although the photos show a 1936 coin pendant, you may receive any year between 1910 and 1936 on a golden chain.
