The Golden Gate Bridge is not golden, it is red. So why is it called golden? Well, the bridge is named for the body of water it crosses. The bridge spans the Golden Straight which is the narrow point connecting the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Interestingly, the straight was named two years before the first California gold nugget was discovered.
The Golden Gate Bridge spoon is approximately four inches (4 in.) or one-hundred millimeters (10 cm) from tip to tip. Click on any photo to view a larger image.
