This proto-germanic rune, ᚹ wunjo, literally means joy. There is no clearer translation or cryptic associations, however, it is also translated as “bliss” upon occasion. This rune did not survive the linguistic drift into the younger futhark. The rune was carried forward in time from Proto-Germanic runes into Anglo-Saxon old English but did not survive into Middle English. Wunjo is pronounced wynn(exhalation) with a soft v sound at the beginning and a brief and silent exhalation at the end.
You will receive a pendant in like or better shape than the one above. The pendant is a silver-plated 1.7cm square with an engraved ᚹ wunjo in the lower right corner. The word joy is engraved on the back to indicate the meaning associated with this rune. Whether you wear it as an affirmation to welcome joy into your life, or as a reminder that you are joyful is up to you. The pendant is on a 30 inch twisty, diamond-cut, silver-plated chain.
