Hello, my fellow numismatists! We hope the new year is treating you well. We have five new releases to look forward to this winter. To keep you in the know, I’ve prepared the following list of New, 2025, USA-minted collectible coins coming soon.

On January 28th, we are lucky to have a new addition to the Native American collection. On the obverse of this brass coin, we retain the portrait of Sacagawea carrying Jean-Baptiste, and on the reverse, we see Mary Kawens Pukui. Ms. Pukui, for short, was a Native Hawaiian scholar born in 1895.
When she was a teenager she began translating Hawaiian stories into English. She worked in education and to preserve Hawaiian cultural writings and customs. A prolific publisher, she brought attention to her cultural inheritance and the Hawaiian people.
On the fourth of February, the mint will release a new quarter to the American Women Quarters Collection. The obverse features the familiar bust of George Washington and the reverse shows Ms. Ida B. Wells. Ms. Wells was born in 1862 and was one of the founders of the NAACP.
She was born into slavery and freed by the Emancipation Proclamation. Orphaned by Yellow Fever at sixteen, she began teaching to earn her living. After putting herself through college, she dedicated her life to civil rights with a focus on women’s rights.
Also during February, the mint is releasing a .999 Fine Silver, Presidential Medal. President Harrison, who was in office from 1889 to 1893 was the only president, until Joe Biden, to serve after, and before the same man. In Harrison’s case, he was both preceded and followed by President Grover Cleveland.
A military man, Harrison did not shy away from conflict and argued to protect African American voters’ rights, specifically in the South. He also established the 8-hour workday for all Federal Employees, including contracted employees.
Another historical commemorative coin released this February is a new Platinum American Eagle with a face value of $100. This coin celebrates the first amendment to the US Constitution, ratified on December 15, 1791.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
This amendment granted all US citizens the right to choose, and to practice their religion, to speak freely, to publish freely, to gather in public places, and to seek assistance from the government if harmed.
On February twenty-seventh the mint will release a 2025 American Women Quarters Proof Set featuring Ida B. Wells, Juliette Gordon Low, Dr. Vera Rubin, Stacey Park Milbern, and Athena Gibson. Ms. Wells, previously introduced, is in good company in this proof set!
Juliette Gordon Low, aka Daisy, founded the Girl Scouts in her 50s to build confidence in girls by encouraging them to connect with their communities and make the world a better place.
Dr. Vera Rubin was an astronomer who observed, gathered, and presented evidence asserting that dark matter, which makes up 80% of matter, is real.
Stacey Park Milbern was a Korean-American activist who helped create the Disability Justice movement to combat ableism with a focus on helping people experiencing intersectionality.
Athena Gibson was an African-American Tennis and Golf rockstar. She was a barrier-breaker during the 1950s and 60s and continues to inspire world-class athletes across the US.That is a set to get! Thank you for joining us today.
