New Traditions

When our children were small we placed presents for our extended family under the tree as we wrapped them, watching the pile grow through December. On Christmas Eve Santa delivered the stocking stuffers and left one special present under the tree too. But now the children are grown and our traditions are changing.

One fun way we plan to enjoy the smallest presents this year is to place them in the tree among the baubles and lights. It brings a new element of surprise to Christmas morning.

We still wrap gifts for extended family members, and we still have some under the tree, but now, the act of hunting for the presents in the boughs of the tree has added a new element to our Christmas morning.

Did you know that red Christmas ornaments began as an American tradition? The red ornaments are an adaptation of the winter Cardinal sitting in evergreen trees across Canada and the US.

This is a great year to start hiding your presents in the tree next to the red baubles!

Have fun this holiday season. Subscribe and we will see you next time on Pendant and Ring.
