People have unique jewelry tastes, and Queen Camilla of the British Royal Family is no different. Since she took up her position as Queen, she has celebrated her access to the extensive Royal Jewelry Collection.
This is the first time in a long time that the Royal family has dealt with public divorce, although Royal history is full of second, third and more spouses.
When Henry VIII was King and a Royal spouse met their demise, royal jewelers melted down their jewelry, royal treasurers sold off their jewelry, or the King gave their jewelry to someone else, often in exchange for courtly favors or to cement courtly contracts.
Queen Camilla is in a difficult position regarding the royal jewels that Princess Diana wore. Di was the people’s princess and Camilla was the other woman. Now, years after the loss of Diana, we can see Camilla in her own right, as Charles did when he met Camilla seven years before meeting Diana.

King Charles III has always cared deeply for Queen Camilla, and she reciprocates. Charles met Camilla in 1970 and liked her straightaway, but Elizabeth did not. Luckily, we are not all children of Monarchs, and most people today can make their own marriage decisions. Most people don’t live with the scrutiny or pressure that Royals do.
In 1970, Camilla met Charles at a polo match. Elizabeth rejected the love match, probably because Camilla’s great-great-grandmother was a King’s mistress. After sending Charles away to distract him, Elizabeth encouraged a false proposal to get Camilla out of the picture, but Charles and Camilla’s bond was not quashed.
After seven years of approved dating, Charles and Diana met and married. For her, three in a marriage was one too many. The union of Diana and Charles gave us Princes William and Harry – both blessings. It also caused prolonged suffering. It was doomed before it began.
In 2005, Charles and Camilla married, and by all reports, they have been happy ever since.

Camilla loves brooches and wears restyled Royal jewels to almost every outing. As of late, Charles’ cancer treatments have kept Camilla out of the limelight, but yesterday they shared some photos and Camilla was wearing one of her favorite brooches; the Tudor Crown Brooch.
Charles III chose this crown to represent his rule and to make a distinction between Elizabeth IIs rule and his own. Elizabeth II preferred the St. Edward Crown.
Camilla often retools necklace pendants into brooches including the diamond and teardrop emerald she wore in Spring 2023. Despite the elegance of the design, she received great criticism for wearing a piece that Diana also favored.
Camilla also favors the Keppel tiara that King Edward VIII his mistress, who happened to be Camilla’s great-great-grandmother. In addition to the tiara, King Charles III is gathering the other jewelry King Edward bestowed his mistress, and bestowing it to Camilla for her private collection.
Faced with the criss-crossed Royal and Parker family histories, the King and Queen Consort appear to take the continuing criticisms in stride.
