Investment Value: Which Historical Coins Appreciate Over Time? Heirloom Jewelry and Appreciation

If you are a long-time reader, you might remember our silver forecasting series. In April of 2024, we discussed the $30 glass ceiling on silver prices. We predicted silver would break through. Now, in December of 2025, silver is above $60 an ounce.

Pendantandring is not a financial investment firm. This is not financial investment advice.

We have spent years working closely with precious metals in jewelry, and jewelry is linked to the history of investment. Women in particular could keep wealth in their jewelry, and did so when they were not permitted to hold wealth in their name.

The history of banking is a long story for another time. I will say Puritans, and, eventually, Queen Victoria both had strong and limiting opinions about women’s roles in society. Some of those ideas linger in modern Western banking systems. These limiting factors are part of why investment jewelry and heirloom jewelry exist.

The history of jewelry is also linked to marriage. When marriage was primarily a financial contract, money in the form of a bride price (money from the suitor to the bride’s family) or dowry (money from the bride’s family to the suitor) exchanged hands. If this exchange was primarily in jewelry, the bride could often keep it, maintaining some wealth separate from her suitor’s estate.

Heirloom jewelry is passed from generation to generation, and marriage remains a time when it is convenient to pass down wealth. These are the kind of coin pendants that Pendant and Ring specializes in.

Will your coin pendant appreciate over time? The short answer is: Yes.

Not only has the price of silver increased dramatically, but gold is on the rise. Central banks continue to invest in precious metals because they are stable investments. Your silver and gold jewelry will appreciate with the precious metal markets.

Pendant and Ring coin pendants are heirloom-quality precious metal pieces. Not only is the metal intrinsically valuable, but the coins are valuable too.

Will your historical coin appreciate over time? Yes.

Not only is the metal becoming more valuable, but no one is making more authentic, ancient, medieval, antique, or vintage coins. All coins are minted for a limited time. They are a product of their time, and we can’t go back in time! – at least not yet!

Join us in a new series, “Heirloom Jewelry Appreciation,” as we explore the five most common concerns about investment pieces.
